Episode # 020 – Love Languages, and Zodiac Signs, and Meyer Briggs– Oh My!

Today’s podcast is going to talk about how we like to be loved. It’s how your Love Plant or Love Tank is filled and fed, if you will. One of the best ways to see what truly fills you up is to take the Love Language Quiz. This shows you the 5 major ways that people show and want to receive love, and it can be such a relationship saver to know these foundational details about yourself and your spouse.

And if you’re more a personality test believer, we show you all the different ways the Meyer Briggs personality types act in a relationship.

Episode #019 – Money Hack: Expense Tracking

Today’s #MoneyMonday will feature one of our most beneficial tips in making you self-aware of your spending habits, expenses, and the all-around makeup of where your money is going. Too many times I’ve sat there at the end of the month with Shawn thinking “where did it all go?!” And it’s terrifying to think about how so much money seemingly just vanished from our grasp.

Then, we started tracking. We wrote it all down, no matter what, and we made it available for both of us to see. We made the tracker something we couldn’t avoid– a habit each time we swiped our card or got out the cash. It made you come face-to-face with the hard truth of where money was escaping. (unused gym membership? reoccurring Kindle fee that you don’t use anymore? or a monthly subscription to a magazine that goes straight to your bathroom?)

We’ve all been there. We get it. That’s why we started tracking; I promise it’s not that hard. We’ve included our expense tracker for you all. All you have to do now is copy this tracker and fill in the slots when you spend. (To edit the categories of what you spend or what your income is, just change it in the “Summary” tab).

You’ll now come face-to-face with all your purchases and see where you can cut back, indulge a little more, and what is a total waste!

Episode # 018 – Bridezilla

So many people have become lost in the sauce when it comes to planning a wedding– every detail must be perfect… or else. In today’s episode, we talk about Bridezillas and how not being one might actually be a bad thing, too.

“I wish I were at least a Bride… Lizard.”

Planning a wedding is definitely a balancing act, and it’s a hard one. With making sure things are cost effective, of good quality, and making sure things run smoothly the day of… it seems impossible at times. Sometimes you’re fresh out of affordable options for venues, photographers, and music, but we made a list of our favorites for those bride-to-bes in the Nasvhille area. (sorry everyone else.)

Episode # 017 – Valentines Day Is For LOSERS

Do you love Valentine’s Day? Or are you a grinch like Melissa and Marie? Today’s episode talks about The Worst present Marie got for Valentine’s Day, the only present Melissa got, and how we both agree that Valentine’s Day is for the birds.

We both agree that there a many reasons why we don’t celebrate it. Not only is it on our mom’s birthday, but we also discuss how it’s a Mean Girl holiday.
[Disclaimer: we do realize that there are nice girls out that that just love celebrating love. #doyoubooboo]

Episode # 016 – Money Hacks: Save Yo Money

This #MoneyMonday is all about saving your money! Shawn suggests another book to read (shocking) that really motivated him to start saving and being intentional about it– Richest Man In Babylon. They also give insight into how they save and why they save.

Their biggest piece of advice for saving, though, is to have a reason for saving– not just blindly put money away with no plan for it. It doesn’t have to be for a rental property (although Shawn will keep trying to talk everyone into owning real estate until he dies), but he does suggest that saving for the sake of saving won’t do you any good.

Have a plan for your money and protect it!

We talked about an app that we use to save our money, you can find it here.
